WORKPLACE SKILLS WILL SHIFT BY 70% IN 5 YEARS. ARE YOU ADAPTING?
Written by Jim Vickers

A recent LinkedIn global survey of over 20,000 professionals revealed that the majority (64%) are feeling overwhelmed by the pace of change in today’s workplace. In fact, skills needed at work are expected to change by up to 70% over the next five years. The top stressors identified include:

  • Integrating AI at work
  • Office return pushback
  • Multi-generational management

Given these challenges, I was asked by LinkedIn to share my perspective on these pressing issues. Here’s how I help CEOs, entrepreneurs, and executive leaders navigate them:

1. EMBRACE AI—TURN FEAR INTO OPPORTUNITY

AI is revolutionizing the workplace, and the leaders who harness its potential are the ones who will soar. I’ve made AI a part of my daily routine, transforming productivity and creating space for strategic brilliance. Don’t fear it—master it. USE AI AS YOUR SECRET WEAPON for a competitive edge.

2. BUILD REMOTE TEAMS THAT THRIVE

With over 20 years of leading global remote teams, I’ve seen firsthand that trust and communication are game-changers. Consistently have weekly one-on-ones to align expectations and BUILD A CULTURE WHERE EVERYONE FEELS HEARD AND VALUED.

3. UNLEASH MULTI-GENERATIONAL GENIUS

Great leaders know the power of diverse perspectives. I’ve witnessed the magic that happens when you nurture and respect every team member—from fresh, entry-level ideas to seasoned wisdom. ENCOURAGE AND AMPLIFY THOSE STRENGTHS.

Leading with impact in a world that’s always evolving fast isn’t easy, but by embracing AI, building remote teams that thrive, and unleashing multigenerational genius, you’ll inspire, elevate, and tackle today’s most pressing workplace challenges.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? I’d love to hear how you’re navigating these challenges in your own work.
